Square Shoulder MILLVILLE PINT
A fine example of a scarce early Millville variety. This PINT is the square shoulder style, with an original domed lid and an original arched iron yoke clamp. A beautiful jar with some nice character to the glass, in brilliant sparkling clean condition. The jar is perfect as they come....not a mark on it anywhere. The lid is near perfect, with one thin flick on the underside projecting collar. The top and sides of the lid perfect and free of chips or nicks. The rim of the jar is flawless too. This is a great example of this hard-to-find Millville Pint.

Pint Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

ROYAL Jar by Hemingray
This half gallon light green ROYAL is a nice example with clean glass, no damage or stains, and scarce original closure. Has some very thin and narrow exposed bubbles inside from the manufacturing. The thick ground rim is in good shape with minor flaking. The base is embossed with a Hemingray-style “14". Comes with the correct metal band closure with stamped patent date, and unmarked aqua insert. Nice early jar.

Half Gallon Hemingray Blue-Green $XXX.XX
SOLD

PINT Whittly Deep Amber LIGHTNING Mint
A real nice looking deep amber LIGHTNING pint. This sparkling jar has sharp embossing, a nice overall whittled appearance (which doesn’t show in the photo), shiny clean glass, and no damage or stains. Matching original lid and original metal bail. The ground rim is perfect without a single flake. Base “PUTNAM 367". An extra-nice little pint.

Pint Deep Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Whittled YELLOW OLIVE Colored LIGHTNING
This quart Lightning comes in a beautiful medium yellow-olive coloration. A very scarce color. The jar is also brilliantly sparkling clean, and has a good overall WHITTLED appearance. Crisp embossing, matching colored lid, and original metal. Excellent ground rim with no chips. Base is embossed “PUTNAM 250". We use the term “yellow olive” to indicate that the jar is a shade greener than the olive yellow version. Placed next to a Citron Lightning, it is a similar tone, but a good shade or two darker. A beautiful colored jar with wonderful character. Looks great in a window display.

Quart Yellow Olive $XXX.XX
SOLD

Scarce HGCo Midget PINT
A scarce early midget made by Hemingray. The front embossing is different than normal 1858 jars, in that "NOV 30TH 1858" is all in one line. On the reverse is an "HGCo" monogram. A nice clean jar in a light "Hemingray Green" colored glass as opposed to aqua. The jar comes with a nice zinc cap of the period. A scarce midget that is seldom found for sale.

Pint Green Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

Strong Whittled YELLOW AMBER Lightning PINT
A stunning yellow amber colored PINT Lightning. This strongly whittled pint has crisp embossing and sparkling clean glass, along with the matching colored lid and original metal. Normal light ground rim flaking, but no damage of any kind. Base is embossed “PUTNAM 85". Amber pint Lightnings are pretty scarce to begin with, and light-colored examples with strong whittle like this one are a real prize to find. This one has been in our collection for a long time. A fantastic window jar.

Pint Yellow Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Very Light Amber GLOBE Quart
An unusually light yellow amber GLOBE quart. The jar is almost yellow, with amber tones in the thicker areas. This is about as light as you can find without being called yellow. A nice example with matching pale yellow amber lid and original metal. Clean glass has no damage or stains. A real nice colored Globe.

Quart Yellow Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

NE PLUS ULTRA Air Tight Fruit Jar
A scarce early quart with profuse embossing. The embossing circles the jar, and reads “THE NE PLUS ULTRA AIRTIGHT FRUIT JAR MADE BY BODINE & BROS, WMS’TOWN, N.J. FOR THEIR PATENTED GLASS LID.” This is a real good example with nice glass character, shiny clean, and has no damage or stains. The rim of the jar is free of damage, maybe the slightest roughness to feel. Even has a scarce original glass lid, with Aug 3 1858 patent date. The lid has some edge chipping on the lid only. A fine and rare jar that is seldom available for sale.

Quart Aqua $XXXX.XX
SOLD

DARK AMBER GLOBE
A good dark amber colored quart GLOBE with matching lid. Has shiny glass, original metal, and correct lid in a matching dark amber color. The lid does have some small chips on the bottom. Good ground rim has 2 tiny undulations on top that were not taken out in the grinding. The body of the jar has some nice heavy swirls in it when held to the light. This is a real good deep color that is seldom seen in a Globe.

Quart Deep Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Scarce Colored PINT LIGHTNING
This Lightning pint comes in a pale golden yellow color with a slight olive tone. A scarce color for a pint. Especially when placed next to amber Lightnings, the color looks yellowish with a trace of olive tone. The jar is crudely made, as evidenced by looking at the ground rim, much thicker on one side that the other. Accordingly, the entire jar is lighter in color up one side as compared to the other side. Its tough to find Lightning pints in unusual and lighter colors.....and this is a nice interesting example.

Pint See Desc $XXX.XX
SOLD

RARE Amber MY CHOICE Half Gallon
An extremely rare, deep amber colored, odd-closure half gallon. Embossed in 2 lines "MY CHOICE". Has a straddle lip seal and comes with a plain amber glass lid and wire clamp. The clamp appears to be a good replica. Excellent condition throughout with no damage or stains, and nice shiny clean glass. Here's a rare chance to add an exceedingly rare colored jar to your display!

Half Gallon Amber $XXXX.XX
SOLD

Pictorial LADIES FAVORITE Wm HALLER Jar
This jar has a repair to the mouth, but what a wonderful & appealing rarity! There is nothing else wrong with the jar....has good embossing, and shiny, whittly, crude glass. This unique example was apparently made for a cork closure, an unlisted closure variant. As opposed to the usual Willoughby stopple finish, the jar was finished with a thin-walled mouth. The repair takes in about 1/3 of the mouth finish. With the lip repair, you can own this example for a fraction of the usual cost.

Half Gallon Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

1850's Half Gallon PETAL JAR Nice COLOR
This half gallon “PETAL” jar comes in a medium Ball blue coloration. Has a nice crude overall appearance. There’s a pushed-in pontil spot base, but no trace of the pontil scar remains.....it came off totally clean. The jar was definitely handled with a pontil rod. Attic mint condition with sparkling & crude glass, and no damage or stains of any kind. These are fairly scarce to come by in this larger size.

Half Gallon Medium Ball Blue $XXX.XX
SOLD

MASONS over 5-Pointed STAR Quart
This aqua Masons 1858 jar has a small 5-pointed star below the embossed "MASON'S". The jar is noticeably fatter than the usual 1858 jar, more of a beehive-shaped jar. Excellent sparkling clean condition with no damage or stains. The ground rim has some minor flaking. Made for an unlined SMS lid, but currently has a common zinc cap. Base is unmarked. Nice looking and scarce early Mason.

Quart Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

OLIVE GREEN CFJ 1858 Half Gallon
This half gallon CFJ comes in a nice medium olive coloration. The color is about 2 shades deeper than the pale green or citron that these are often found in. Definitely a real nice color, especially when displayed on a wall shelf. There are 2 minor flaws in the jar from in-the-making....a small pot stone in the back with tiny legs, and a shallow exposed/open bubble inside the shoulder on the left side. These do not affect the display of the jar at all, were done in the manufacturing, and I would consider as minor. Has good embossing, and shiny clean glass with no stains. Given the rare color of this jar, it will make a fine addition to any collection of 1858's.

SIZE COLOR $XXX.XX
SOLD

Yellow/Topaz KIMBALLS Jar
This small tobacco jar (less than a quart in size) comes in a nice golden yellow coloration. The jar is yellow with amber tones in the thicker areas. It is considerably lighter than normal for these. Nice shiny clean glass has no damage or stains. Has a grinding flake on the inside of the ground rim. Original lid is fairly solid, but does have a slit rusted through the side just below the top in one spot. Good embossing. An excellent colored old jar.

Approx 24 oz Yellow w/ Amber tones $XXX.XX
SOLD

Strong WHITTLED Amber LIGHTNING
This deep amber Lightning half gallon has a good strong overall whittled appearance. The jar has bold embossing, and is shiny and bright with no damage or stains. The ground rim has very little flaking. A great window jar.

Half Gallon Deep Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Scarce WIDE MOUTH Half Gallon GLOBE
This is the second and final example of two of these that we acquired recently. A super nice specimen in the very uncommon Half Gallon size. Comes in that nice Hemingray blue-green colored glass. Has good crisp embossing, shiny clean glass, correct matching colored wide mouth glass lid, original metal bail assembly, and no damage or stains of any kind. Has the typical straw marks in the glass around in the back, but no damage at all. Would make a fine addition to your Globe display, or any Hemingray collection.

Half Gallon (-) Lt Blue Green $XXX.XX
SOLD

Extreme WHITTLED Pint LYMAN
This early WW Lyman pint comes with its original metal lid. The jar has a very heavy overall whittled appearance. The glass is sparkling clean and has no damage or stains of any kind. The lid is in fairly good shape, and you can just make out the arch of stamped lettering on the top of the lid. There is some minor pin holing in the side of the lid. A fantastic example of this jar in a scarce Pint size.

Pint Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

DEEP BLUE Lightning Quart
An exceptionally strong Cornflower Blue colored Lightning quart. This smooth lip quart comes in the strongest shade of blue that we have seen for this series. The lid is a perfect color match. Both the lid and the jar are nearly dark enough to be called light cobalt. Both jar and lid are perfect. There is a small whitish bubble in the glass at the last “N” in Lightning, but not open. An awesome jar.

Quart Cornflower Blue $XXX.XX
SOLD

Excellent CITRON Colored TM Lightning
A very appealing colored Lightning quart. The color is a good medium Citron green. Best of all, the jar is in essentially perfect condition with shiny glass, strong embossing, matching colored lid, and no damage or stains on either the jar or the lid. Good ground rim with no flaking. Has unusual-looking base lettering with a small “PUTNAM” over a larger “36". A mold we have never seen before. This is a premium jar!

Quart Citron $XXX.XX
SOLD

Cobalt Blue L&W Quart
A rare quart stopper jar with fantastic color. This light cobalt blue or sapphire blue colored quart is embossed on the base "L&W". The Redbook listing is 1529-1, but not listed in light cobalt. Has bubbly and crude glass that is in sparkling, attic mint condition. Nice crude and drippy applied lip. This is the last good cobalt colored jar we have left to disperse.....a beautiful colored jar and the best possible example.

Quart Lt Cobalt Blue $XXXX.XX
SOLD

PINT Honey Amber LIGHTNING No Serifs
I believe this is one of the earlier Lightnings, as the base mold number is “Putnam 38", and it has no serifs on the lettered “LIGHTNING”. Comes in a nice medium honey amber color. Shiny clean glass with no damage or stains. Matching lid and original metal clamp. Has a large bubble inside the neck in back, with just a small section of it exposed. A good looking Pint.

Pint Honey Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Exceptionally Nice Amber GLOBE Pint
This pint amber Globe comes in a little darker color than normal for these, and is the best possible example. Has super bold and crisp embossing, as well as some nice bands of swirls encircling the jar. Also has a thick & perfect ground lip, original iron hardware with no rust, and matching color lid with no damage. The glass is sparkling clean...its an attic mint jar. If you want the best available example of an amber pint Globe, look no further!

Pint Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Rare PINT Amber MAGIC STAR Jar
This honey amber colored PINT is a choice example......the jar is in mint shape, with light whittle and sparkling clean glass. Nice crisp embossing too. Comes with an original 3-piece all-iron clamp, and the matching colored glass lid with 1886 patent date. Lid has small chips on the underside inner edge, as is normal for the lids of this series. The jar is as perfect as you will find. If you collect rare pints, or simply need this size to complete your set, don’t miss out.....there are very few available in this size. You couldn’t ask for a nicer specimen.

Pint Honey Amber $XXXX.XX
SOLD

RARE Amber STANDARD Wax Sealer
Exceedingly scarce in this color, this quart applied lip wax sealer is embossed in an arch "STANDARD". Good condition except for a repaired chip on the outer ring, see photo. Shiny glass otherwise has no damage or stains. Seldom found in this color....don't miss a chance to add this rare jar to your shelf.

Quart Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

DEEP AMBER Pint LIGHTNING
The color of this Pint Lightning is the darkest amber color we have seen for these in pint size. An excellent jar with matching lid, original metal, and clean glass with no damage or stains. The ground rim is nice with no chips or flakes. Great looking pint to add to your colored Lightning display.

Pint Deep Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

Scarce PINT Hannum & Hauk Jar
This clear pint stopper jar is embossed vertically "HANNUM & HAUK CLEVELAND. O." excellent condition with no damage or stains of any kind. Redbook listing is 1205-6. A scarce early product jar.

Pint Clear $XX.XX
SOLD

Dark Amber LIGHTNING Quart
This "TRADE MARK LIGHTNING" comes in an unusually deep amber color. You sometimes find the deep red amber ones with the 8xx series mold number on the base, but this one is an earlier type, with "PUTNAM 226" on the base. These earlier Lightnings are not common in this darker color. Has clean glass and an attractive moderate overall whittle. No damage including a near perfect ground rim. The lid is a good color match, with three patent dates. If you are collecting Lightning jars by color, you may need this one for the end of your row.

Quart Dark Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

YELLOW AMBER Globe Quart
This Globe comes in a good pale yellow amber color. Excellent condition with no damage or stains, original metal closure, and a perfect matching yellowish lid. Has numerous tiny seed bubbles in the glass. A real nice looking colored Globe jar.

Quart Yellow Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

STRONG OLIVE GREEN Balll Mason Quart
A good strong olive green colored quart "BALLL MASON". This example also has strong embossing. There is a profusion of subtle amber swirls running throughout the jar. Shiny glass with no stains or damage. A nicely colored Ball jar.

Quart Olive Green $XXX.XX
SOLD

Scarce BODINE/HARBSTER IRON STOPPLE Jar
This early aqua quart comes with its rare original cast iron stopple. This is a much more elaborate stopple as compared to the more common Willoughby style (see photo showing internals). The original sealing gasket is also intact. Jar is excellent with no stains or damage. Stopple is in good shape also, with all lettering readable. The Redbook listing for this jar is #472.

Quart Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

YELLOW AMBER PINT Lightning WHITTLED
A beautifully whittled PINT Trade Mark Lightning, in a nice yellow amber coloration. This jar looks great in a window. I thought the jar was perfect, but on removing the rubber ring, noticed a short, L-shaped fissure on top of the sealing ledge at the ground rim. Nonetheless, a lovely old Lightning jar with great character. The glass is shiny clean. Someone added white highlighting paint to the lettering.

Pint Yellow Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

VAN VLIET Half Gallon
A good early odd-closured jar in a scarce-to-find Half Gallon size. This Van Vliet is a nice clean specimen with good embossing, nice ground rim, and original glass lid. The wire & clamp is a very good replica. Shiny glass with no damage or stains at all. Also has a crude swirl in the glass to add to its characer. Great jar in a hard-to-get size.

Half Gallon Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

J & B Jar ORIGINAL LID
This aqua "J&B" quart is a fine example with shiny clean glass, good embossing, and no damage or stains. The stamped zinc lid appears to be an original, which is very scarce to come by. The lid is in very nice clean condition. Ground rim has the usual minor flicking.

Quart Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

Lovely CITRON Colored LIGHTNING
This LIGHTNING quart comes in a good medium CITRON coloration. This is a surprisingly scarce color for a Lightning. Beautiful condition with light whittle, crude and bubbly glass that is sparkling clean, good embossing, and no damage or stains. Lid is a good color match also. A real fine jar.

Quart Citron $XXX.XX
SOLD

RARE Early COBALT BLUE IRON PONTILED Quart
This 1850's-era quart was blown in a 3-piece mold, with a crudely formed mouth, and a pushed-in base with a strong reddish iron pontil scar. Made for a waxed cork closure. Beautiful medium cobalt blue color. The condition is flawless....no damage of any kind. Inside the base is a faint trace of content residue, very light. This jar is in essentially "attic mint" condition. Probably a Pittsburgh piece, but could be Hemingray-made. A rare and desirable jar in this fantastic color.

Quart Cobalt Blue $XXXX.XX
SOLD

Hemingray PATENT 1860 Wax Sealer
This blue-ish aqua colored quart is the wide-body style, push-down wax sealer. Has sharp embossing, and no damage or stains. It does have a manufacturing flaw, a starred pot stone in the back, see photo. The jar has crude glass, with heavy milky swirls coming down from the mouth down past the shoulder. The ground mouth is unusually good in this example, with no flaking at all. A nice-looking early jar.

Quart+ Blue Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

SUPER BUBBLY Yellow Amber GLOBE
This Yellow Amber colored GLOBE is exceptionally bubbly for a Globe jar, with hundreds of tiny seed bubbles embedded in the glass. A beautiful jar in a light golden amber color, with clean and shiny glass, matching colored lid, and original iron closure. Fine condition with no damage or stains and a good thick ground rim. Seldom is a Globe found with this much crudeness!

Quart Yellow/Golden Amber $XXX.XX
SOLD

OLIVE w/Yellow Tone LIGHTNING
This jar has a flaw in one side, but great color. I would call it medium Olive with yellow tone, or Olive/Yellow. A beautiful jar with light whittle, and sparkling clean glass. Also has a steaming swirl of bubbles that starts at the lip in front, and swirls all the way, 360 degrees around the jar, to return to the front heel. In the left side of the jar is a hard-to-notice little star ding, with faint, thread-like legs. They don't seem to be all the way through the glass, but are definitely some kind of damage. Ground rim has a couple side flakes off it as usual. This jar has such good color and character, that I'm sure someone will want it in spite of the small flaw. A beautiful-looking Lightning.

Quart Olive/Yellow $XXX.XX
SOLD

Rare YELLOW GREEN Pontiled Storage Jar
You see these free-blown 19th century storage jars in clear glass, but to find a colored example is rare. The jar is free blown, with a pushed-in, open pontil-scarred base, smooth fire-polished rim, and the original tinned iron lid. The lid still has a lot of its original dark japanned finish. The color is a brilliant deep yellow green. The sides of the jar taper in near the heel. The glass is quite heavy in this example. Measures 9-1/2" tall to the rim, and 5-3/4" at the widest. A stunning old jar.

9-1/2" tall Yellow Green $XXX.XX
SOLD

PINT sized ABC Jar w/ ORIG CLOSURE
An aqua pint, embossed in dual-lined block letters "ABC". Comes with the correct original glass lid and the original cast iron clamp with a cam-action tightening wheel. The jar and lid are shiny clean with no damage. There are 2 small chips on the outside of the ground rim. A scarce old jar, especially in this size.

Pint Aqua $XXX.XX
SOLD

Rare COLORED GLASSBORO Jar
Rare to find this jar in color! This quart "GLASSBORO TRADE MARK IMPROVED" comes in a light olive green with areas of darker olive or amber in the bottom. Beautiful condition with no damage or stains. The correct Glassboro insert is a green-aqua. An interesting and scarce colored jar.

Quart Lt Olive Green $XXX.XX
SOLD

Colored CROSS over MASONS 1858 Quart
This crude old Masons 1858 quart comes in a bright apple green color. An excellent specimen, with sparkling clean glass, and no damage or stains. Strong embossing too. The base has an unusual mold number, "00" encircled by the Hero patent date. Nice looking jar.

Quart Apple Green $XX.XX
SOLD

Yellow Amber GLOBE Half Gallon
A very light amber colored GLOBE half gallon. Nice jar with matching colored lid and original metal closure. Superb condition with no damage or stains of any kind. The ground rim is perfect. This is the narrow half gallon style. Good looking jar to add to your colored Globes display.
