This aqua quart is a superb example with its original domed glass lid and metal closure in good condition. The jar is in excellent condition too, with shiny glass and no damage or stains. Sits up on three “feet” blown into the base of the jar. Ground rim is excellent. A highly-appealing early jar.

Crude Early Jar “FINE TABLE SALT”
A deep aqua colored squatty quart-sized utility jar embossed in three lines “FINE TABLE SALT”. Has an exceptionally crude laid-on ring mouth, very drippy and wavy. Clean glass has no damage or stains. A very unusual and unlisted jar.

FRIEDLEY & CORNMAN’S Patd 1859 LADIES CHOICE
A sparkling and crude example with strong embossing and no damage or stains. Original cast iron lid has an old leather insert. The lid is a very nice example that has never rusted. A beautiful old jar.

STAR & CRESCENT Quart
This aqua quart has good embossing and is free of damage or stains. Comes with its original drop-on zinc lid with milk glass liner. There are some small holes in the sides and top of the zinc lid. The lid is an unusual variant with a soldered lug on the side. Good ground rim with minimal flaking. A nice uncommon early jar.

THE DAISY JAR Half Gallon
A nice light purple tinted example with matching colored lid along with its excellent original iron cam-action clamp. Very nice shiny clean condition with no damage or stains, outside of one small chip on the corner of the top sealing ledge, very minor. Strong embossing. A great jar and closure.

Rare PINT Size THE HOWE JAR SCRANTON PA
An excellent aqua example with original matching colored glass lid and very nice original coiled wire clamp with very little rust. The jar is strong embossed and free of damage or stains. A couple ground rim flakes as is normal. This jar is very scarce in pint size.

Scarce TEAL BLUE Ball 3L Mason
A bold strong Teal Blue colored half gallon. A very unusual color for this series. Strong embossed, shiny clean and free of damage (one paper-thin flake at the threads at the left mold seam, probably from when it was made). A great looking jar in this color.

Rare PINT Wax Sealer A. STONE
A sparkling and crude example with no damage or stains. Nice crude and drippy applied mouth, well-embossed, and has good bubbly glass character. Does have the tiniest pinhead nick on top of the rim, but very small and hard to see. Notice in the photo that there’s a small undulation on top of the outer rim (shown) but its not damage, just the normal manufacturing crudeness that’s common to early applied mouth wax sealers. A beautiful little jar and very rarely seen in this tiny size.

RARE Original AMBER MIDGET
A beautiful light orange amber colored Midget 1858 in fine condition. Has good embossing, shiny clean glass and no damage or stains. Normal small amount of flaking on the ground rim. Comes with a good original zinc lid. This is an original midget made in the late 1800's. A stunning little jar.

A very strongly embossed example with original correct lid and original heavy iron wrap-around clamp wire. Nice condition with a single flake inside the ground rim (shown). Jar has lite wear around the shoulder. A highly appealing and scarce early jar.

JOHN M MOORE FISLERVILLE Complete HG
A big half gallon (plus) sized example. Correct original domed Moores lid and a nice original cast iron Moore’s clamp. Lid has a tiny nick on the edge, but a very good example. The jar does have one small starred pot stone on the back shoulder from the original making. Clean glass in the jar and no damage or stains. Even has the original gasket still intact.

Bright Orange Amber MASONS Cross 1858
A sparkling clean example with no damage or stains. Base is embossed with the usual Hero date encircling a mold number. Ground rim has the normal flaking. A beautifully colored Mason quart.

Unusual YELLOW Safety HG
A scarce color for this jar, nearly a golden yellow, but I’ll call it a yellow amber. Noticeably lighter than the usual pale amber color these come in. Lite amber original lid and original scarce wire clamp. Jar is shiny clean with no damage. Does have some of those vertical marks on the sides where the glass was touched while still hot. A beautiful early Indiana jar.

Pint FRUIT KEEPER Unusual BALL BLUE Color
A pint example in an appealing medium Ball blue color. Placing the jar next to a Ball blue colored Ball Perfect Mason, it is nearly an exact match. The lid is also a matching Ball blue color, and the metal closure is an original. These jars are usually light greenish-aqua. Nice overall condition with clean sparkling glass. A very nice little pint.

John Moore rev JB Wilson’s Air Tight Jar
An aqua small-mouth quart with strong embossing that reads: “J.B. WILSON’S AIR TIGHT FRUIT JAR PATENTED JUNE 20, 1861". On the other side: “JOHN M. MOORE & CO (arched) MANUFACTURERS FISLERVILLE N.J.”. Comes with its rare, correct small mouth glass lid, embossed “PATENTED JUNE 20 1861". Nice Moore’s iron yoke clamp with thumbscrew is in good shape. The jar is in nice shape also, with only one small flake on the outer rim. Shiny glass with no damage, stains, or pot stones. Inside the shoulder is one teardrop-shaped open bubble from the making. A rare early New Jersey jar, that has seldom been offered for sale.

Rare DALBEY’S Jar w/ Strong Color
A rich, bright Ball blue colored quart example with good embossing, sparkling clean glass and no damage or stains. Comes with a very expensive all-iron replica closure made by the late Felix York. A fine and rare early jar.

DOCTOR RAMSAY’S Jar
This rare variety has fluted panels that extend down to the heel. Good embossing and excellent condition. Ground rim has the usual minor roughness. Original glass stopper is near perfect, with a minor flake on the bottom edge. The base of the jar is unmarked. There is a little deposit on the very bottom of the jar. A rare early jar and a fine example.

THE BALL With ORIGINAL TIN LID
This is the variety with no periods or spaces in the “PATAPLDFOR”. Excellent original lid with traces of tin plating on top and quite a bit remaining on the inside. Rare to find this jar with its original lid. Sparkling clean glass with no damage or stains. Has typical grinding flakes around the outside of the ground rim. A good scarce Ball jar.

Rare Colored GLASSBORO Jar
A beautiful Cirton color with subtle amber swirls. Strong embossed and shiny clean with no damage or stains. Regular aqua Glassboro insert and a good zinc band. Great-looking jar and rare to find in color.

Side Wire VAN VLIET Quart
This is the variety with the wire spanning the sides of the jar instead of front to back. The base shows mold alterations where the mold was changed to move the wire grooves to the sides. Beautiful condition with shiny glass and no damage or stains. Normal ground rim roughness. The lid is very light aqua. The original iron clamp and wire are in excellent shape with very little rust. A fine example.

Nice Colored A STONE Wax Sealer
A bold example with more blue than usual in the color. Very bold, strong embossing and sparkling clean glass with a nice whittled effect. Near perfect, with some minor pinpoint roughness on the edge of the rim in back. A beautiful early jar.

Amber MASONS 1858 Unusual Mold
An amber 1858 half gallon with subtle darker amber swirling and also some translucent milk glass-like swirling. This mold variety I’ve never seen in amber...it is usually seen in clear and attributed to Atlas Glass Co of Washington, Pa. (Note the odd “M” and the squatty style of “1858"). The base has a large “8". Excellent condition with shiny glass and good embossing.

Rare Size NE PLUS ULTRA Jar
This sparkling aqua quart-and-a-half sized jar is the straight-sided variety with no “circles and squares”. Embossed “NE PLUS ULTRA, AIR-TIGHT FRUIT JAR/ MADE BY BODINE & BROS’ WMS’ TOWN, N.J./ FOR THEIR PATENT GLASS LID.” Comes with the original glass insert lid, which is in decent shape with some typical edge roughness. The jar is excellent with no damage or stains....the glass really sparkles in this example. Has some minimal roughness on the top edge of the rim, very minor. A great-looking early jar in a rare, unlisted size.

Mint Square Shoulder MILLVILLE Quart
An awesome example in essentially perfect condition throughout, and with nicely whittled glass. Also comes in a color that is a little darker, and a little greener than a standard Millville (and the lid matches). Comes with the correct original cast iron clamp in great shape also. A spectacular specimen.

JC BAKER Jar w/ORIGINAL CLAMP
This aqua quart is embossed (on the lid only) as shown and comes with the original cast iron clamp. Jar is in nice shape with normal light roughness of the ground rim, including a tiny 1/8" check just under the ground rim surface. The glass lid is perfect, and the iron clamp is in nice shape with an old dark patina. Tough to find with this rare clamp.

Rare SAFETY Cumberland Glass Works NJ Quart
This very rare aqua quart is completely original including all parts of the closure. A nice clean jar with good embossing and no damage or stains. Normal light flaking of the ground rim. The complex iron closure assembly has some rust pitting, but is all complete, solid and in working order. This jar is very, very rarely to be found for sale.....don't miss this rare chance to obtain a super nice and complete example.

BLACK GLASS 1858 Half Gallon
A rare Masons 1858 blown from olive black glass. Base has a Hemingray-style “6". These jars are believed to have been blown by the Hemingray Glass Co in 1877. The half gallon size is exceedingly rare, with only a handful of specimens known. Beautiful condition with no damage or stains. Has normal flaking of the ground rim.

Amber CROSS Masons 1858 Swirled
An amber “Cross above” Masons 1858 quart with very strong, bold embossing. The glass also has an interesting milky swirl spiraling around the jar from top to bottom, which is not showing in the photo due to the white background. Excellent condition with no damage or stains. Has the usual light flaking of the ground rim. The apostrophe in Mason’s is strongly 7-shaped. A very impressive-looking jar.

EXTREMELY BUBBLY A Stone Jar
A stunning quart “A STONE PHILADA” threaded stopper jar. The brilliantly shiny glass is absolutely chock full of small bubbles. The jar is in fine condition too, with no damage or stains. Does have some roughness on the internal threads. The correct threaded stopper is about perfect. An exceptionally nice Stone jar.

SQUARE SHOULDER Pint MILLVILLE
An aqua pint Square Shoulder Millville in pristine condition. The best possible example, in essentially mint condition, including the correct original domed glass lid. Jar has a perfectly smooth rim with not even a nick. Original cast iron clamp is in nice shape too, with some original black paint remaining. A superb example of this scarce and appealing early jar.

Open Pontiled Free Blown Jar
An early free blown storage jar with original tin lid. Nice and clean with swirly character to the glass. The lid is a very nice one, with hardly any rust. Measures 7-1/2" tall and 5-1/2" across the base.

Crowleytown Quart with Original Lid
This early Crowleytown Mason quart comes with its original rare IRON cap with vertical lugs. The cap is full of tiny pinholes, but they do not show with the lid on, only when held to a light. The cap is still quite solidly intact, and looks really good on the jar. This variety is perhaps the rarest of the original Crowleytown lids. The jar is in nice shape with no damage or stains. Perfectly flat base.

Rare CORNFLOWER BLUE The Hero Ine
This rare half gallon is embossed in 3 lines “THE HERO INE” with the third line intentionally made much lighter than the first two. The color is a rare medium cornflower blue. Beautiful glass is full of tiny seed bubbles. Metal lid closure is stamped with a multitude of patent dates, and the zinc band fits tightly. There is a tiny manufacturing flaw in the jar in the back, a pinpoint sand grain with tiny radiations, To view Click Here. Very minor, but worth mentioning. This may be the only example known in this color. A beautiful jar.

BODINE JAR w/ ORIGINAL CAP
This aqua quart is a well-embossed example in fine condition and comes with the excellent original metal closure with stamped lettering. A very good lid with no rust damage. The jar is in great shape with no damage or stains. Has an interesting crude tilt to the neck, pushed into the shoulder slightly on one side. A good scarce early jar.

This aqua pint is the smooth sided variety and comes with the correct glass lid. The jar has a flat chip on the outer edge of the rim. Sparkling and crude glass character. Very scarce jar in this size....the first example we have seen.

A bright CITRON colored CFJ quart. Strong embossed and sparkling with no damage of any kind. Has a faint wisp of deposit inside at the right mold seam, but extremely light. Comes with a nice lugged CFJCo cap. A very pretty color for a CFJ.

A stunning olive amber colored CFJ half gallon. Good embossing and shiny glass with no damage or stains. Has a tiny chip on the edge of the ground rim. There are also a couple skin deep open bubbles on the inside. Comes with a nice lugged CFJ lid. A beautifully colored CFJ.
